Are you my Other?

Whewee! Just finished my presentation at university on Lacanian theory.

I am so very pleased to have it all over.

So I can relate this to my blog, that's a cupcake experiencing decentrement.

Things I'd rather be

As the hour draws near when I will be FREE from my rather large collection of words, I'm starting to think about what I will do to fill my time when I let it all go.

Which makes me think about what I would rather be doing now.

This is difficult to curb.

Right now I'd rather be...

Playing girl scouts on a moonless beach with my bestie. Armed with one torch, some lindt chockie and a pocket knife we explored this stony beach and all its creatures.

(We were actually trying to walk to Splore but the sea got in the way)

I have promised myself many an adventure once I've finished.

What's your favourite adventure-activity?

Tying Together the Regimes of Knowledge and Truth

As I while away the hours researching, reading and writing I have had little need to be in the kitchen.

But oh! what a want!

Instead, I can live through previous kitchen times and phone lines.

Yum! Black bottom cupcakes, tickle ALL of my fancies.

What are yours?

Of all the Kates I know...

I had the pleasure of writing a recipe, then baking with the editor Rosabel, for the magazine Kate, which was released on Monday.
Check it if you please. It's full of interest and niftiness, focusing on contemporary feminist issues and the like.

The release party was equally delightful with bands The Gladeyes, Tono and Tiny Ruins
(plus everyone munching on me and Rosabel's cupcakes gave me a real tickle.)

We baked Red Velvet, Vanilla Vanilla and Chocolate and Raspberry Cheesecake cupcakes.

Happy reading! (and Baking?)

From The Past

Oh my. These little gems were made for a very special kind of lady who had been working several million days straight. The idea was to cheer her up with bubbles and a light summery treat. Ended up being a raspberry and vanilla cake topped with whipped cream that had raspberry juice and meringue folded through.

Oh my.

I ate the rest of them watching Rebecca and wishing I was in the library of Mandalay eating them.

Won't you try making some and pretending you're in some vast mansion? It is rather a lot of fun.

In The Kitchen With The Tombstone Blues

How to stave off boredom/tristesse on a rainy day?

Bake some of these babies and have a strong brew besides. They are also an excellent way to apologise. They were supposed to be LAVENDER! INFUSED! CUPCAKES! (yes) but my lavender hunt will have to wait for another day when it's sunny and I have an appropriate dress.
Maybe even an accomplice.

Will you come lavender hunting with me?

I'll bake you some of these?

The March Vader Dance

So it's still that time of the year where, night after night you perform some crazy hot/cold fever dance in bed. It's like a private peep show to the curtains.

See a little leg.

Hide a little leg.

Remove a piece of clothing.

And etc.

It could well be the weather but I prefer to blame it on the pillow cases I put on this week. Darth could disturb the sleep of many a people.

Fortunately, I've figured out how I'm going to sleep the sweet sleep of well, some kind of carbonite frozen sleep.

I'm gonna buy me one of these and sleep on the floor, the BF can toss and turn as much as he likes on the bed while I snuggle up with my lightsaber. Join me if you like, grab one from http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/plush/bb2e/

Sweet sleeps!
